DIRECTOR

A key position even on smaller shoots; this person is in charge of the look, feel, tone, and consistency of the video project. It is highly recommended to use a director for most shoots.

PRODUCER

While the director is in charge of managing the cast, props, and set decoration once they’re on set, the producer is in charge of making sure those vital elements are in place and ready for production to go as smoothly as possible. A good producer will make sure you get all the shots you need on time and under budget.

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

The “DP” or “cinematographer” is responsible for the camera choices, lighting setups, and tech decisions for the production. A DP will approach a shoot with a more complete and specific plan for the look and content needed than a simple camera operator.
