Medical Corporate Video
We shot this video in Houston at a beautiful new building that Lonza was still in the process of finishing. For those who’ve never heard of Lonza, they do some incredible work in product development services to the pharmaceutical and biologic industries. This includes organic, fine, and performance chemicals, custom manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals, chemical synthesis capabilities, detection systems, and services for the bioscience sector. They are cutting edge and just being in their facility made us feel smarter 😉
When we get to do these types of medical videos in laboratory facilities we often switch up our lighting approach to mimic what people are used to seeing on television. The fact is that basically all labs are bright, white, and evenly lit. This is about the most boring thing that you can put on camera though so we often take some liberty with gels, intensity, and the shaping of the light. This allows us to shoot much more interesting footage and hopefully keep the viewer more engaged throughout the story. It’s important to grab attention and keep a consistency of image that seems inviting to the audience.
The graphics portions of this video were fun to work on. We were able to take the CAD drawings and incorporate them into the medical video to give a “virtual walkthrough” feel. It’s the next best thing to being there! An important goal of this corporate edit was to show potential clients and company members alike just how massive and capable this new compound was going to be. It’s an impressive home for some of the finest bio-engineering in the world and we were happy to be able to tell the story.
We used Canon, Tokina, and Rokinon lenses on a Red Epic Dragon camera to create this medical video. We look forward to returning to the location to be able to show off even more of their incredible technology in the future.
